Mickey

These two necklaces were created for Katie and Amy in memory of their beloved horse, Mickey.

Each pendant was carefully handcrafted in sterling silver, with Mickey’s unique face markings delicately pierced out by hand. On one pendant, I used a dark patina to highlight the contrast in his markings, bringing out the finer details that made him so distinctive.

To make each piece even more personal, I set tiny stones filled with opal flakes and snippets of Mickey’s hair, carefully placed to reflect the colours of his markings.

This was one of the most intricate commissions I’ve ever taken on — a true labour of love — and the result is a pair of keepsakes that beautifully honour Mickey’s memory.
